Shirley DiazShirley began her journey with The Northern Nevada International Center in 2007, when she took an International Affairs class with Carina. Intrigued by the organization, she applied for an internship in 2008 and was offered the “Lucatelli” position; a paid position in which she organized programs sponsored by the Department of State, as well as aided in the “Language Bank” and the “International Visitor Leadership Program.” After her initial internship, she remained active in the international field through her participation in the Model United Nations program as well as the Western Regional Conference in Tahoe.… Read more

The Nevada Air National Guard and the NNIC to host visitors from Kazakhstan

The Nevada Air National Guard and the Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC) will be hosting a group of visitors from Kazakhstan to meet with representatives from the Attorney General’s Office, the Reno Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Arizona National Guard as well as local nonprofit organizations.   The purpose of the meeting is to begin a dialogue between the Kazakh delegates and local organizations and agencies and learn about Nevada’s steps in combating trafficking of people (TIP).… Read more
