Our Mission
Learning a language is important to a child’s self-development, allowing for better communication with others around the world as well as a better understanding of different people and cultures. By investing in our children’s education and cultural awareness, we are setting the foundations for the global citizens of tomorrow.
The Importance of Learning a Language at an Early Age
- Studies show that elementary age students have an easier time learning a language and have a better chance of developing native-like pronunciation.
- Studies also show that students who take four or more years of a foreign language score significantly higher on the verbal section of their SAT’s than those who had studied four years of any other subject.
- Language is an important way for children to better develop personally and become better equipped in an ever-changing and competitive world. At the NNIC, we feel it is very important to provide a service that can better help your child grow into a global citizen of his or her world.
Our Programs
The NNIC, with the Washoe County School District, offers after-school language programs for elementary school students in 1st – 6th grade. These programs focus on language basics while also teaching about different cultures and geographies where the language is spoken.

Our Teachers

Our teachers are native speakers and/or university language majors. Our teachers believe that by introducing our children to language and culture, we can better equip them for the modern, global world. Instructors combine traditional and dynamic teaching techniques to make learning fun! They teach the fundamentals of vocabulary, basic grammar and conversations through a curriculum-based program while also making time for games, music, and other fun exercises.
