Our Programs

On this page you can find an overview of some of our most important programs, offered at the NNIC via its three specialized departments: the International Visitors programs, the Educational Outreach programs, and the Language Bank.

Our flagship programs are:

International Visitor Leadership Program
A professional and cultural exchange program. Visitors include judicial officials, NGO directors, government representatives, etc.

Open World Program
A grassroots professional and cultural exchange program with Russia and some of the former Soviet States. Visitors spend seven days with American host families and study topics such as economic development, community building, rule of law, etc.

Language Bank of Northern Nevada
Over 350 local consultants provide interpretation and translation services in 61 languages.

Language and Culture Programs for Adults and for Kids
After school language programs in various Washoe County Schools in numerous languages. We also have private tutoring available.

World Affairs Council

Monthly discussions on various foreign policy and international relations issues.

Academic World Quest

Academic WorldQuest is a global affairs and U.S. foreign policy-based knowledge competition. Every year, over 4,000 high school students across the U.S. participate in local WorldQuest competitions, hosted by their local World Affairs Council.
