The Northern Nevada International Center is welcoming applications for the 2011-2012 Lucatelli Internship position.
Lucatelli interns serve as International Visitor Program Coordinators, and are responsible for organizing short-term programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Program coordinators work in a fast paced environment, in which communication is paramount to implementing programs. Due to the nature of the International Visitor Leadership Program, program coordinators are expected to manage changes in scheduling and crises on a daily basis. Applicants must be current International Affairs Undergraduate Students at the University of Nevada, Reno, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Teamwork and diplomatic skills, the ability to think and work independently, and an interest in international affairs and in meeting people from other countries are also crucial to the position.
For their services, Lucatelli interns receive a $4,000 stipend over the course of the year (August 2011-May 2012), through the College of Liberal Arts. Interns are expected to perform 20 hours of work per week (Monday-Friday).
