Mission statement NNIC fosters the role of citizen diplomacy in building bridges of international awareness and understanding, through programs of international exchange and community and educational outreach, in order to promote the equality of all peoples. What we do Roughly speaking, our work and our activities can be grouped into three areas: those related to international visitors, those having to do with cultural and educational outreach, and services related to interpretation and translation (click on each link to go to the pertaining "main page"). A bird's eye overview of the NNIC's key programs is offered on this page. The International Center continues the work of the International Visitors Council as a nonprofit organization linking internationally oriented individuals, business interests, civic groups and federal, state and local government officials of Northern Nevada with foreign visitors. The International Center receives guidance from the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV) in Washington, DC and other State Department sponsored organizations and federal agencies.
