The Northern Nevada International Center will be hosting a delegate from South Africa from May 20th-23rd.  Mr. Dhamendra Nair is the Provincial Manager for Business Against Crime in KwaZulu Natal. The delegation was invited to Reno as part of the International Visitors Leadership Program of the US Department of State.

The Reno portion of their program will be focused upon:

  • The prevention of crime in urban areas focusing on the roles and responsibilities of governments, law enforcement entities, the private sector, and local communities in responding to threats, reducing risk, and keeping Americans safe from crime.
  • Assess the federal, state, and local governments’ level of responsibility in designing programs which combat crime;
  • Examine the organization of and collaboration among law enforcement institutions; and the role of nonprofits and the private sector in combating and responding to crime.
