Algerian and American High School Participants Learn from Each Other
For the past week, 25 Algerian high school kids, three Algerian high school teachers and eight American sixteen and seventeen year olds have been learning with and from one another about leadership, diversity and media literacy.
The Algerian delegation arrived in the United States on Thursday, July 23 and will spend several weeks in the Reno Tahoe area. Currently, the students are staying with host families in order to learn about life in the US up close and personal. Both Americans and Algerians are eager to understand cultural differences, and they are honing their leadership skills.
On Thursday, the participants went to Virginia City to make music, dance and food presentations to elementary kids there.
On Saturday, the participants will volunteer at the FoodBank and the Equestrian Center in Stagecoach.
