Latin American delegates visited Reno
Delegates from Latin America (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, Paraguay, Venezuela) were in town from April 25 through April 29, 2009, on an International Visitor Leadership program, titled “Administration of Justice: The Rule of Law.” The delegation included lawyers, judges, constitutional scholars, ministry officials and journalists.

They had many professional appointments throughout our community, including half-day at the National Judicial College, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Tour of Washoe County Jail, Judicial Education Nevada Supreme Court and Commission on Judicial Discipline. The delegates were able to deepen their understanding on the U.S. judicial and legal system, administration of courts, and to explore the academic and professional ethics on the field.
An unforgettable home hospitality thrown by Susan and Dallas Smith, the evening included a wonderful concert with flutes and harp. Delegates also had the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful cruise in Lake Tahoe and visit Virginia City, during their visit to Reno.
